PARIS INTERNATIONALE, 2026: KEITH FARQUHAR

19 - 24 October 2026

Kendall Koppe is delighted to present a solo booth by Keith Farquhar at Paris Internationale 2026.

Farquhar's works begin with diaristic imagery drawn directly from his phone. Transferred through dye sublimation onto polyester fur, the images produce a strange, tactile surface: much of the image is pressed flat, while the pile splays outward at the edges of the stretcher.

Farquhar is interested in the sense that materials can hold activity, time and the life of the artist. Yet this language can quickly become cliché when it relies upon familiar signs of authenticity.

Here, the surface of the subject merges with the surface of the fur, creating a constant push and pull between image and substrate. The works remain alive, but slightly alien; it becomes difficult to locate whose life they contain. The boundary between artistic and non-artistic labour begins to dissolve.

The fur works are accompanied by a short video made on Farquhar's phone. It began with accidental recordings and unintended clips found amongst the source images for the fur works - the video equivalent of a pocket call. Farquhar has since started developing these accidents, allowing fingers, movement and chance to shape what happens on screen.
