The Virtual Boulevard / El Boulevard Virtual, A Night of Poetry Readings

Friday 08 November 2024, 7—9PM

Organised By: Mau Baiocco, Cecilia Pavón, Corin Sworn

The Virtual Boulevard is a digital publication of poetry and its translation by poets in Argentina and the UK. Structured around play and friendship, the translations in The Virtual Boulevard were supported through workshops across continents to explore working together with intralanguages as opposed to a strict dichotomy between source and target language. The workshops were led by noted Argentinian poet and translator Cecilia Pavón, creator of the Microcentro literary community space in Buenos Aires, with assistance from artist Corin Sworn and SPAM press staff editor Mau Baiocco.

Please join us for a hybrid launch to hear readings and recordings by the poets across languages.

The publication contains contributions from: Camila Gassiebayle, Jorge Javier Romero, Valenetín Etchegaray and María Muchut in Buenos Aires; and Nasim Luczaj, Gloria Dawson, Lu Rose Cunningham and Mau Baiocco in Glasgow. Images from Tirco Matute and Alice Brooke.
